Wills and Estate Planning

A will sets out your wishes as to how you would like your assets to be distributed after you pass away. Estate Planning can be carried out in conjunction with making a will, to streamline your affairs and to minimise the impact of Inheritance Tax.

A single will starts from £350

Joint mirror wills start from £550

Lasting Powers of Attorney

A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) allows you to appoint a trusted person(s), known as the Attorney(s), to make decisions for you when you no longer wish to make them or when you lack mental capacity. There are two different types of LPA: Property & Financial Affairs and Health & Welfare.

A single LPA costs £295*

Both types of LPA cost £450*

Single LPA for a Couple £450*

Both LPA's for a Couple £750*

*Plus OPG registration fees

Probate and

Estate Administration

Probate is the process of administering an estate after someone passes away. This involves organising their assets and distributing them according to their Will (if they left one) as inheritance, after paying any taxes and debts.

I work closely with the SWW Trust Corporation to make the process as straightforward and cost effective as possible.

Cost for Probate will vary depending on the nature of the estate.

Deeds of Variation

A Deed of Variation allows changes to be made to a will after death, provided all the beneficiaries who would be affected by the changes agree.

General Management

of Affairs

We can help with the general affairs of elderly clients, either because they are no longer mentally capable of managing their own affairs, or because the burden of managing their own affairs has become too great.

Deputyship

When someone does not have a valid Power of Attorney and lacks the mental capacity to make one, then an application can be made to the Court of Protection to appoint a 'Deputy' to make decisions on their behalf.
